John Norton, MD

Through it all, I've continued to teach medical students as an Associate Professor of Medicine at CU; to serve as Medical Director of the stroke team and anticoagulation services at Penrose Hospital; and to pursue my interest as a teacher and clinician in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of blood clotting problems. Dr. Norton practices at his office at Centennial Blvd. and W. Fillmore St. in Colorado Springs. |

Upon completing medical school in Albany, I flew to Denver in 1969 for my internal medicine training, including an extra year as chief resident, principally an academic position. Those experiences created a framework for patient-centered care and a continued interest in diagnostic medicine, with an emphasis on teaching and coordination of care. I brought this approach to Fort Carson Army Hospital, and then to private practice. In 1999, I joined Mountain View Medical Group. Despite all of the changes in healthcare, I have found joy in the practice of medicine and have balanced this with my love of sports and outdoor activities.
