I chose medicine as my profession due to my desire to help people and interest in disease and their processes. I am especially interested in women’s health, preventive medicine and geriatrics. I grew up in Houston, Texas, went to the University of Texas in Austin for my undergraduate work and returned to Houston for my medical school and residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. While training, I met my husband. After he completed his cardiothoracic training, we moved to Florida where I developed my interest in geriatrics. Last year we moved to Colorado Springs. My family and I have grown to love this city with its majestic mountains, nice people and beautiful scenery. I enjoy biking, skiing, running, and walking my Sheltie. One of these days, I plan on climbing a fourteener!
